From Sherry Torkos
Sherry says that some of the most common concerns she sees with patients are constipation, diarrhea and digestive problems due to poor diet and lack of dietary fiber. She finds in consulting with patients that most do not get enough fiber from diet and supplementation is necessary to meet the daily recommendations.
"There are so many fiber supplements on the market, but what I like about Sunfiber is that it tastes great, mixes well, non-gritty and does a great job at regulating bowel function."
"I like the fact that Sunfiber is clinically proven to lower the glycemic index and improve mineral absorption."

Dr. London
Cathleen London, M.D., is a board certified family medicine physician. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Department of Medicine of Weill Cornell Medical College, as well as an Assistant Attending Physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She is working full-time providing clinical care to patients at the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center.
Dr. London joined Weill Cornell after running a successful family medicine practice for over 10 years. Her practice encompasses the entire family, including all ages, both sexes, and any health problems that may arise. Family Medicine is the first specialty that requires board recertification by written exam every 7 years. As a result, many believe that family physicians are best qualified to serve as each patient’s advocate in all health-related matters, including use of consultants, health services, and community resources.
Dr. London believes in an integrative, holistic approach to healthcare which utilizes a combination of western, allopathic medicine, diet and lifestyle modification, nutritional supplements and herbal medicines when appropriate.
She earned her medical degree from Yale University and completed her residency in family medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University. Her pre-medical requirements were completed at Stanford University.
Dr. London began her career as an actress and model after receiving her undergraduate degree in theater arts and computer science from Brown University.
“The one constant,” she says, “was interest in the human body.”
From Dr. London
Dr. London has started to recommend the use of Sunfiber to patients who are starting a weight-loss program or a new diet to address Type 2 diabetes and elevated cholesterol. She is recommending the use of Sunfiber to help with satiety at the beginning of every meal , as well as snacks to help them feel full faster and make it easier to follow their new diet program.
“Most of my patients have some level of understanding of fiber, and its role in good digestion and health but they don’t know the best sources , how to supplement or how to determine when they are getting to the 25-35 grams per day.”
“ IBS patients have had immediate results with Sunfiber. A small percentage required addition intervention such as probiotics after a few weeks to maintain the benefits.”
“Overall, all patients have found Sunfiber to be well tolerated especially those who have used other forms that contain gluten, flavoring, colors or have gritty, thick texture.”
“Patients have commented on how the versatility of Sunfiber has made it much easier for their entire family to use with every meal.”

I have tried many fiber supplements in the past. Varieties of wheat gluten fibers which did not work well for me. The Sunfiber simply works, my elimination in the morning is consistent and significant and my belly feels flatter! As a health professional I place a lot of significance with my clients on efficiency of digestion and elimination because it not only affects their waist line yet also their overall health. I cannot recommend this product enough!

Fiber is my number one weapon for weight loss. Let's face it, you can't be successful in losing weight if your cravings and appetite are out of control. Fiber is the secret weapon for satiety as it slows down stomach emptying thus keeping ghrelin suppressed. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone that is released when the stomach is empty to signal you to eat. But that is just one way that fiber is your best friend in weight loss.
Fiber also helps feed the healthy bacteria in your gastrointestinal tract thus helping you to absorb nutrients better and keeping the bad bacteria under control. If you have an overgrowth of bad bacteria it can actually cause you to extract more calories from the food you eat and store them as fat. And fiber supports healthy detoxification and improves transit time throu gh the gastrointestinal tract. This is also important in weight loss as toxicity can lower the metabolic rate and impair hormone function thus causing weight loss resistance.
I teach my clients to consume 50 or more grams of fiber a day. I emphasize high fiber foods including nuts and seeds, berries and lentils but I also recommend supplementing with fiber as well to ensure you reach this amount. My favorite fiber supplement in Sunfiber as it is the only truly regulating fiber on the market and it doesn't cause gas and bloating. Because it is odorless and tasteless you can sneak it into anything but my favorite place to use it is in my morning smoothie because it helps me stay full for hours. This is a strategy I have all of my clients doing with great success.
Adding fiber is probably the easiest thing you can do to start up leveling your diet and supporting weight loss and more importantly long term weight management. It's my secret we apo n for weight loss but I don't want it be to a secret any longer!
